The role
As head of programmes and a member of the management team, you serve as the strategic link between programme operations and the management team. In this role you’ll manage a team of 12 programme managers who coordinate programmes and match projects with skilled volunteer experts, oversee a team of four travel support officers who assist experts with their travel arrangements, and report directly to the COO, who holds overall responsibility for operations. Your daily activities will be varied and challenging:

Strategically guide and coach programme managers to ensure their expert communities are skilled, diverse, high-performing, and ready to deliver impactful programmes.

Lead strategic planning for programmes, anticipate trends, and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including both the head of region for Asia & South America and Africa.

Act as the strategic link between programme managers and the management team, translating programme priorities into actionable plans.

Turn programme analytics and evaluation feedback into strategic guidance, ensuring programme managers position the right experts to deliver maximum results.

Ensure compliance with organisational policies across programmes.
Who are you?

You are a proactive, hands-on, and a strategic thinker with a Bachelor’s or Master’s working and thinking level.

You bring 10 years of relevant experience, including as a member of the management team.

You bring experience in programme management and leading an international team.

You have strong intercultural communication skills and collaborate effectively with different departments and stakeholders.

You have a strong focus on impact, quality, and results.

You play a key role in achieving PUM’s goals through the successful delivery of impactful projects.

You thrive in an organisation in growth and transition, enjoy contributing to further professionalisation.

You are fluent in English; French and/or Spanish is an advantage.

You are based in the Netherlands.

You are available for 30 to 37.5 hours per week.

You are data driven and comfortable with the use of digital tools, including Microsoft 365.
What we offer
This position at PUM offers a competitive salary ranging from €5.133 to €7.333 gross per month based on a full-time (37,5 hours) contract. We provide numerous perks, including an 8% holiday allowance, a 13th-month bonus, working-from-home and commuting allowances, 28 days of holiday, a pension plan, a vitality budget, and more.
