The role

As travel support officer, you are part of the programmes department, which includes four travel support officers, 12 programme managers, and one head of programmes. In this role, you play a key part in ensuring our experts can travel to clients and successfully carry out their projects. You bring experience and an affinity with working in various systems, as you will keep our planning system up to date and regularly use the travel and visa portals of our external agencies. The following tasks will be your responsibility:     

  • Providing administrative travel support to programme managers, country managers, and experts, by informing them and registering details in the system. 

  • Ensuring accurate system data entry, while optimising travel-related workflows, and actively contributing ideas for system improvements. 

  • Monitoring expert travel arrangements by approving bookings after the initial reservation by experts. 

  • Liaising with travel agents for complex cases and providing follow-up and escalation support as needed. 

  • Preparing Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) and ensuring travel compliance. 

Who are you?  

  • You are a proactive and communicative team player who thrives in an international organisation that values diversity.  

  • You have strong organisational and administrative skills, preferably in project support.  

  • You are skilled at aligning and coordinating tasks with different internal and external  stakeholders.  

  • You are confident working with digital systems and keen to contribute ideas for process optimisation.  

  • You have a genuine interest in SMEs, development organisations, and working with volunteers.  

  • You have excellent command of English, both written and spoken; ideally also French, Spanish and/or Dutch. 

  • You are based in the Netherlands and available for a minimum of 30 hours per week.  

What we offer 

This position at PUM offers a competitive salary ranging from € 2.885 to € 4.121 gross per month based on a full-time (37.5 hours) contract. We provide numerous perks, including an 8% holiday allowance, a 13th-month bonus, ‘working-from-home’ and commuting allowances, 28 days of holiday, a pension plan, a vitality budget, and more. Our stunning office, conveniently located within walking distance of The Hague Central Station, boasts breathtaking views. Pre-screening is part of the selection process.
