Country Manager Côte d’Ivoire
As country manager Côte d’Ivoire you will be actively supporting the scaling of our initiatives and projects in Côte d’Ivoire. Currently the country team consists of a project officer and 5 representatives. Do you have a drive to make a real difference by empowering ambitious entrepreneurs in building a structurally better future for themselves and their communities; socially, ecologically and economically? As a country manager at PUM, your role as people manager is pivotal. You’re not merely managing; you’re orchestrating positive change. By motivating, coaching, leading, and inspiring your team, you’ll empower SMEs to thrive in their respective markets. What does the role of country manager involve? You’ll be actively engaged with the PUM organisation, averaging two days a week, often spread across multiple days. This includes regularly checking and responding to emails, having intake meetings (on Teams) with clients and addressing any urgent matters that may arise. Your responsibilities include:

Managing and building an effective team of representatives responsible for bringing in clients and projects.

Assessing client requests in Côte d’Ivoire together with the sector manager.

Providing guidance and leadership to your country team, which consists of the project officer based in the Netherlands and representatives located in Côte d’Ivoire.

Implementing PUM’s strategy and policies in Côte d’Ivoire.

Cultivating fruitful relationships with PUM clients and networking with external stakeholders to strengthen ecosystems around PUM clients.

Crafting and executing the Country Impact Plan for Côte d’Ivoire.

Ensuring strong working relationships with sectors, other PUM countries, and internal PUM departments.
Who are you

You are a people manager with strong intercultural sensitivity and proven experience in building and managing international commercial teams.

You have experience in coaching diverse teams, fostering collaboration, and achieving results.

You are an authentic, resilient, humble, and dynamic professional with an in-depth understanding of the culture and customs in Côte d’Ivoire.

You are eager to navigate various development opportunities within Côte d’Ivoire.

You have excellent command of French and English.

You reside in the Netherlands or Côte d’Ivoire.

You have a strong understanding of the culture and an active local network in Côte d’Ivoire.

You are very comfortable with digital tools, including Microsoft 365.
Volunteer position
The country manager role is a unpaid/volunteer position with a small expense allowance. We prefer individuals committed for up to 4 years. Prescreening is part of the selection process.
