Being a PUM Trainer Intercultural Communication

We are seeking experienced trainers with a focus on intercultural communication. As a trainer at PUM you will be part of our divers trainers team, currently consisting of eight people. Together you will be responsible for conducting the monthly training “Advising in Intercultural Context”, which is a mandatory part of our onboarding process. The training material is already in place, but you will be expected to contribute to its further development. Training sessions are conducted at our office in The Hague. Based on your availability, you will be scheduled to do a training 3 to 4 times a year, together with one of your trainer colleagues. The training will take approximate six hours per session, including a coffee and lunch break. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Giving the training “Advising in Intercultural Context” 3 to 4 times a year together with a co-trainer.

  • Further developing training materials.

  • Evaluating the training programme during biannual team meetings.   

Who are you?

  • You are an authentic, driven, and communicative professional with a strong intercultural sensitivity and a good eye for people.

  • You have expertise in intercultural communication and experience in delivering trainings on this topic.

  • You have professional experience in working with diverse cultures.

  • You are experienced in training a diverse and international group of people/volunteers.

  • You have an affinity with SMEs and knowledge of and experience in the world of development cooperation.

  • You have proficiency in both Dutch and English.

  • You are very comfortable with digital tools, including Microsoft 365.

Volunteer position

The trainers’ role is a volunteer position. For this role, we can only consider applicants based in the Netherlands. Prescreening is part of the selection process.
