Hans Blankert Fund

Roméo Gobou
Director of the Extracurricular Vocational Training Centre CFPP-IRETI N'LA in Parakou, Benin

As a result of the improved solar panel course, including the new educational materials, we are confident that more students will register. This will provide us with more income to invest in our own building in the future. Last but not least, a larger number of educated solar specialists will graduate from our  ‘Installation and Maintenance of Photovoltaic Panels’ course. This will have a postive impact on the entire population of Benin, in social, economic, and ecological fields.

Investing in sustainable growth

Applications for the Hans Blankert Fund must be submitted through a PUM expert. The expert will assess if partial funding is feasible and will proceed accordingly. If the client meets all the criteria and the grant is approved, the PUM expert oversees the implementation process. This involves purchasing the equipment, arranging transportation, and ensuring installation and commissioning on-site. Whenever feasible, the fund promotes local procurement of items.

The overall aim of a grant from the Hans Blankert Fund is to facilitate businesses growth. This means that the intended investment must generate a tangible commercial effect and lead to permanent improvements in operating results. Preferably, the investment should also have a positive ecological and social impact on the community. This can include enhancing working conditions and safety for staff, promoting environmental sustainability, supporting female employment, and combating child labour.
