Stay involved as silver expert

Why silver status?

Since 2018, PUM has been awarding silver status to PUM experts who have reached the age limit. Both the management and volunteers felt the need to maintain contact with each other, which led to the development of the alumni community. One of the PUM volunteers came up with the term “silver expert” for these highly appreciated ambassadors.

What can a silver expert do for PUM?

As a silver member, you are an ambassador for PUM and can promote PUM not only within your circle of friends and acquaintances but also by giving presentations within the business community or for an association to showcase how PUM makes a difference. Alternatively, you could pass on your PUM knowledge and experience to a new expert. If you are interested in either of these opportunities, please contact HR Volunteer Support (hrvolunteersupport@pum.nl).

PUM Silver Engage Group

For our silver members, we have set up a group on the social feed Engage to stay in touch with each other. On this platform, we share PUM news and projects and announce events for silver experts. The PUM Silver Engage Group is private, managed by the HR department. Joining is easy: click on the link below and register. HR Volunteer Support will process the form and arrange your access. As a group member, you will be able to share posts or ask questions on this platform.

“When you’re informed that your time as a volunteer at PUM is concluding, it may feel rather abrupt. One day you’re still a PUM expert, and the next day, you’re not. That’s why it’s comforting to know that you can continue to contribute and engage with the organisation as a Silver expert. As a ‘Silverling’, I am an active ambassador of PUM and see it as my task to promote PUM’s mission and vision. Friends and acquaintances are aware of my past volunteer work with PUM and often approach me to learn more about it.”

“PUM is a great organisation where I have learned a lot. That’s why I have enjoyed contributing to PUM during my volunteer years. I also appreciate staying in touch. Participating in a Silver Day sounds wonderful as it allows us to continue seeing each other. I can also envision passing on my PUM experience to new and active experts. I see myself as an ambassador for PUM and am keen to continue supporting this wonderful organisation.”

“My drive is to establish connections with others. That’s why I continue actively as a silver member. I view myself as an ambassador of PUM and am passionate about advocating for this engaging and essential organisation. I share my personal narrative and experiences and give presentations in my network, including at VNO-NCW. I also have many contacts in the business world, and based on my experience, I know that as a PUM volunteer, one always has a captivating story that others are eager to hear. Collaborating with PUM present numerous opportunities, both for experts and the Dutch private sector.”
